The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in a tax preparation role. There is the potential for this position to be a reoccurring, seasonal role.

• Preparation of intermediate US and Canadian personal tax returns and related filings
• Gathering and summarizing relevant information and documentation
• Communicating with clients and other professional advisors
  
• Related research on US and Canadian tax legislation, policies and practices

Bonus Experience:

• Preparation of complex US and Canadian tax returns including related filings such as Form 5471, Form 8621, Form 8858, Form 3520 and Form 8854 for US citizens who have relinquished their citizenship
• Experience handling cross-border tax issues including Canadians emigrating from Canada and Americans immigrating to Canada
• Preparation of Trust tax returns

If you're the one we're looking for, you have the following experience:

• Approximately 3-5 years working in a public practice role
• Preparation of Compilation Engagement files and T2 corporate tax returns – intermediate level files and above
• Understanding of corporate tax balances (CDA, RDTOH, GRIP etc.)
• Preparation of corporate or personal tax planning scenario calculations
• Preparation of Canadian personal tax returns – intermediate level files and above

Bonus Experience:

• Preparation of U.S. personal tax returns
• Preparation of Trust tax returns
• Preparation of Review Engagements and Financial Statements in accordance with the Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE) including related notes disclosures
